ChanSchatz
ChanSchatz (Eric Chan and Heather Schatz) create projects via
their working process that is known for its open and porous nature
and signature vocabulary of forms. ChanSchatz paintings and installations
explore themes of identity and social relationships in various
thematic, collective, and demographic contexts. Conceived as
contemporary portraits or biographies, ChanSchatz go to far-reaching
lengths to engage specific communities and groups of individuals.
ChanSchatz have recently created projects for the Albright-Knox
Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY, the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC)
in Cinncinati, OH, the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York, and
the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, NY. ChanSchatz
are currently preparing for solo exhibitions at the Hunter Museum
of American Art in Chattanooga, TN, at The Happy Lion in Los
Angeles, and Lever House in New York. ChanSchatz live and work
in New York.
