Carlos de Villasante
Carlos de Villasante was born in Mexico City and currently
resides in Miami, Florida. He exhibits his work both in the
United States and abroad. Recently his work has been published
in both A-42 and Atlantica art publications
put out by Spanish curator Antonio Zaya and the Canary
Islands Museum of Modern Art in Tenerife, Spain. This
year he participated in a show concurrent with the Havana Biennial
called “Art Book” curated by Julian Sunyer. His
work was featured recently in shows at the Fort Lauderdale
Museum of Art and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Villasante
also participated in “Miami Visions of Now” at
the J Johnson Gallery as well as at ARCO ’04 in
Madrid.
Carlos Collaborates with his wife Rebecca Guarda under the
moniker of Devil-Saint Inc. Together they produce whimsical
hand pulled silver gelatin prints that incorporate masked characters
in whimsical situations.
Rebecca Guarda
Rebecca Guarda was born in Rome, Italy and currently resides
in Miami, Florida. She has a Bachelor of Architecture and Fine
Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from
the Miami International University of Art and Design. Guarda
has recently participated in various group exhibitions such
as “Col-lectiva Transmirada” at Spain and “Affair” by
Lemon Sky: projects + editions at the Jupiter Hotel in Oregon,
Her work was purchased through juried review for the Miami
Dade Art in Public Places Artbank in 2005.
